Terms of Service
The short version. You must be at least 13 to use Deewa. Be kind, post only what you have the right to post, and don't post anything illegal or harmful. Coins are for use inside Deewa only: they have no cash value and can't be turned into money. Reward points work the same way. We can remove content or accounts that break these rules. The full terms below are what count.
1. Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Deewa ("Deewa", "we", "us"). They apply to the Deewa mobile app and our related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Deewa.
Some features have extra rules that we show when you use them, such as prices or eligibility. Those rules are part of these Terms.
2. Who can use Deewa
- You must be at least 13 years old. Deewa is not for children under 13. If you're under 13, please don't sign up.
- If you're under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you need a parent or legal guardian's permission to use Deewa and to make purchases. They agree to these Terms on your behalf and are responsible for your use.
- Some clips are marked 18+ and are shown only to accounts that told us they are 18 or older.
- You can't use Deewa if we've removed you before, or if the law forbids you from using it.
3. Your account
- Accurate details. Give us true information when you sign up, including your age range. Keep your password private. You're responsible for everything that happens on your account.
- Email verification. Until you verify your email address you can browse, but you can't post, comment, vote, join clubs or spend coins. An account that is still unverified after 7 days is deactivated. Verifying reactivates it. An account still unverified after 30 days may be permanently deleted.
- Handles. Your @handle must be unique, and you can change it only from time to time. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, or misleads people.
- One person per account. Don't share, sell or transfer your account, and don't create accounts to get around limits, rewards or a ban.
- Guest mode. If you browse as a guest, you can look around, but most features need an account.
4. Your content
"Your content" means anything you post or send on Deewa: posts, comments, messages, clips, photos, polls, matchups, Tidbits, reactions, votes and profile details.
- You own it. You keep ownership of your content.
- The licence you give us. So we can run Deewa, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example resize or re-encode), and distribute your content inside the Service, and to show it when we promote Deewa in a way that shows the Service as it is (for example a screenshot of a public feed). This licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept in backups for a short time or kept because the law requires it, and except for content other people have already shared or saved within the Service.
- Your promises. You confirm you have the rights to post your content, and that it doesn't break the law or these Terms.
- Who sees it. Most content on Deewa is public to other users. Your display name, handle, avatar, badges and public posts can be seen by others.
5. Fandom Media clips
Fandom Media is for real, raw fan moments.
- Who can post. Posting raw clips is open to Verified Artists and Deewa Duo members. Any verified user can watch and unlock clips.
- Only what you're allowed to share. Post only clips you filmed yourself, or that you have permission to share. Don't post clips you downloaded or re-uploaded from somewhere else. Respect venue rules, other people's privacy, and artists' rights.
- Authenticity checks. When you upload a clip, we check it automatically to help keep the feed real. We read the video file's technical details, such as the recording device's make and model, the recording time, the encoder, and whether it was edited or converted. We also check a few frames for watermarks and logos from other apps. Location data is removed from the published clip. A clip may be held for review or refused if it doesn't pass these checks.
- Prices. You can set an unlock price for a clip, within the range shown in the app. Viewers pay that price in coins.
- Viewing only. Clips are for watching inside Deewa. Don't record, download, or redistribute other people's clips.
6. Community rules
Don't use Deewa to:
- harass, bully, threaten, or hate on anyone, including because of their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or nationality;
- post sexual content involving anyone under 18, or any content that sexualises minors, in any form. We report this to the authorities;
- post nudity or sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or content that encourages self-harm;
- share someone's private information, or images or video of someone without their consent;
- impersonate a person, artist, brand or Deewa, or pretend to be verified;
- infringe copyright, trademarks or other rights;
- spam, scam, or manipulate votes, rankings, reactions, rewards or coins, for example with fake accounts, bots or automation;
- buy, sell or trade accounts, coins or rewards outside Deewa;
- break, probe, overload or reverse-engineer the Service, get around its security or limits, or access it with unauthorised tools;
- break any law.
7. Reports and moderation
You can report content or accounts in the app. We may review content, including when it is reported or flagged by automated checks. We may remove or hide content, limit features, remove badges, take back coins or rewards gained by breaking these Terms, or suspend or delete accounts. We try to be fair and consistent, but we decide what is allowed on Deewa. We're not required to watch everything that is posted.
8. Coins
- What coins are. Coins are a virtual item you can use inside Deewa, for example to unlock clips, buy reaction extras, cast certain votes, publish Tidbits, or get watch-party tickets. Prices are shown before you spend.
- No cash value. Coins are not money, are not property, and can't be exchanged for cash, sold, or transferred to another account. You get a limited licence to use them in Deewa. We don't owe you anything for unused coins.
- Getting coins. You can buy coins through Google Play. Google Play handles payment under its own terms. New accounts may receive welcome coins once, after finishing sign-up and verifying their email. We may offer other ways to earn coins.
- Refunds. Coin purchases are final once the coins are added to your account, except where the law or Google Play's refund policy says otherwise. If a refund is granted, we may remove the matching coins.
- Mistakes and abuse. We may correct coin balances that are wrong because of an error, and remove coins obtained by fraud or by breaking these Terms.
- Your history. You can see your coin activity in Wallet > Coin history.
- Changes. We may change prices, what coins can be used for, or end coins, with notice where the law requires it.
9. Subscriptions
Deewa may offer paid membership tiers (such as Devoted Fan, Loyal Fandom Fanatic and Deewa Duo) that unlock extra features. When offered:
- you buy and manage them through Google Play, at the price shown at checkout;
- they renew automatically until you cancel in Google Play. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for;
- refunds follow Google Play's policies and the law;
- we may change what a tier includes or its price. Price changes apply from your next renewal, with notice as required.
10. Reward points, badges and trophies
- Reward points. Creators may earn reward points when fans unlock their clips. Reward points recognise engagement. They are not wages, earnings or a payment from Deewa or from fans. They have no cash value and can't be exchanged for money unless we announce a redemption program with its own terms.
- Badges and trophies (such as Verified Artist, mask badges, Founding Member, Ultimask or Lumina Crown) are given under the rules we show in the app. They aren't for sale between users, and we may remove them if they were obtained unfairly or the rules for them are no longer met.
- Verified Artist. Verification is at our discretion and can be removed. It doesn't mean we endorse you.
11. Live rooms and watch parties
Voice rooms, watch parties and fan meetings happen live. The community rules apply there too. Audio is streamed live through our provider so others in the room can hear you. We don't record these conversations as part of the feature. Don't record others without their consent.
12. Entertainment features
Features such as tarot readings, oracle answers, chemistry and vibe scores, and AI-generated suggestions are for fun only. They aren't advice of any kind. AI-generated text can be wrong.
Tidbits (trivia and other quick challenges) and events may be time-limited. When a season or event ends, its challenges and rewards may no longer be available.
13. Our app and your feedback
Deewa, its design, code, artwork, reactions, badges and brand belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
14. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Deewa infringes your copyright, email deewaapp@gmail.com with:
- your contact details;
- the work you own;
- where the content is on Deewa (the user and the post or clip);
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner;
- your physical or electronic signature.
We may remove the content and notify the person who posted it, who may send a counter-notice. We remove the accounts of repeat infringers.
15. Ending your use of Deewa
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. What happens to your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if we must for legal reasons, or if we stop offering the Service. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why.
- When an account ends, its unused coins, reward points, badges and memberships end too, except where the law gives you a right to a refund.
- Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 4, 8, 13 and 16 to 19) continue after your account ends.
16. Disclaimers
Deewa is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that content is accurate. Content posted by users is theirs, not ours, and we don't endorse it. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
17. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Deewa won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim about the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
18. Your responsibility to us
If someone brings a claim against us because of your content or because you broke these Terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs, to the extent the law allows.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. If you live somewhere whose consumer-protection laws give you the right to bring claims in your local courts or under your local law, nothing here takes that right away. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect and ask you to accept the new version to keep using Deewa. The version number and effective date are at the top of this page.
If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part, that doesn't mean we give up the right to. These Terms, and the rules shown with specific features, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
